‘Shelled’ walnuts are walnuts that are without their shell. They are also widely known as walnut kernels. Our bags of shelled walnuts come in a variety of sizes, including walnut halves, walnut quarters and smaller pieces.

We offer our fresh shelled walnuts for sale in 250g (foil-lined, resealable) pouches, in 5kg bags, or in bundles. Our walnuts are carefully grown on our farms in the fertile soils of the South West of Western Australia – the optimal climate for walnuts.

As Western Australia does not have codling month, Omega walnuts can be transported interstate without chemical treatment. Imported unshelled walnuts, on the other hand, are treated with methyl bromide (a product banned from general application).

How to Store Shelled Walnuts

Storing shelled walnuts is easy. Once opened, simply store your shelled walnut halves and pieces in an airtight container in a cool, dry environment.

For optimal longevity we recommend storing them in the fridge.

How Long do Shelled Walnuts Last?

Providing they are stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry environment (i.e. a refrigerator or cool-room), your shelled walnuts will remain fresh for up to 18 months. They can also last for up to several years when frozen.
